The Philosophy of World Religions is a college course taught by Dr Joel B Hunter at Truckee Meadows Community College. This video is an overview of Hinduism as discussed in the course text, World Religions by Huston Smith, and the primary text excerpts presented in The World's Wisdom by Philip Novak.

In the first half of the video, Dr Hunter presents the vocabulary of key terms used in Hinduism and that students will need to know to understand and express the central ideas and practices of the religion.

Key terms to understand Hinduism and the assigned readings include samsara, moksha, karma, Atman, Brahman, yoga, samadhi, jiva, maya, lila, and others. The primary texts from which selections are drawn are the Vedas, the Upanishads, and the Bhagavad Gita.
