Can I just say: Thank you for being one of the few Warhammer lore channels that doesn't soil itself with foul language, lowkey racism/sexism or edgelord humor. Love your videos!

Covering the much hated end times you are a brave man.

Im So glad I found someone properly presenting the lore, all the other stuff was some dumb youtuber who couldnt stop swearing, just cringey edgelord stuff.

I'm not mad about Warhammer Fantasy ending, what I was mad about was how they ended it, in my opinion the end times were poorly written. With weird events and characters doing things that they would never do if you knew what they were like, also a bunch of iconic characters were completely forgotten or killed off screen.

Anyway Age of Sigmar has been alright so far

I'm a pleb who just bought Vermintide 2 -- I really like your content even though I don't understand it yet.

I'm an old school whfrp player and have never played tabletop. So glad to have found your channel as I love lore and fluff. Wish I knew other tabletop players as I love the game. But stil happy to listen to you explain the world to us.

For a topic that has divided the Warhammer community in some ways, you handled the topic respectfully and thoroughly. Well done and great video.

Finally! Someone who doesn’t cuss every five seconds or use “cunt” over and over when trying to describe the lore of the world. Thank you for the wonderful explanation, just got into Warhammer (more video games vs tabletop) and am playing games like total war warhammer 1 and 2, vermintide and soon chaosbane. Once again thank you and you earned a subscriber!

I have to admit that was a Sigmar hater without even playing it. That is possibly due to the fact that since getting back into the Hobby in 2012 I spent over £400 building a new fantasy army. Not including the rulebook or army books. I finally decided to give the AOS a try about a year ago and realised just how much fun it is. I still prefer fantasy but I can now enjoy AOS too. Really good video!

Thank you Doug for these videos!! You have no idea (well, you probably do) how hard it has been to find AoS lore videos that weren't filled with incredible negativity and hate. I have always played 40k, but didn't show interest toward the fantasy side until I fell in love with Total War: Warhammer. Since then I have been trying (and failing) to find good, informative videos to update me on the universe that didn't just bum me out. Since watching these I have started a Seraphon collection and can't get enough AoS! Can't thank you enough for your respectful take on both sides of the debate, it's unbelievably helpful to us newcomers.

I used to play a dark elf army in fantasy, so I ended up having to trade in my cold ones for eels which I don't hate, but I hope one day we will see what Malekith's armies in AOS look like, maybe next year

I've just gotten into AOS, I used to play Warhammer 40k, so loosely knew what happened to Warhammer Fantasy.

But I just want to say, this is the only video on YouTube that I've found to be enjoyable...so many End Time videos are children making slurs to GW staff about End Times or just...being inflammatory.

Cheers for being an adult

At the expense of reading all the comments. Teclis didn't mean for any of the non elf characters to become Nexus points of the magic winds, he lost control of the ritual the moment he freed the winds

Just a few things.
1) you forgot everything about bretonnia. They were the main order guys in book 1and was instrumental in saving the empire in book 2. Not just the undead- oh well I guess it was cut bcs of time. It’s just I played them and now they are all gone and forgotten - lol sad panda. ;)
2) naa the elves dont live on the British isles. The elves live on Atlantis (or where Atlantis was supposed to be in our world according to some legends- right smack in the Atlantic Ocean). The warhammer equivalent to the brittish isles is called Albion. Its much smaller than the elvish ‘Atlantis’ - it’s at a different place on the globe and has a Celtic/Druidic theme.
3) tomb kings are not in ‘Egypt’- they were more like all over ‘Africa’ tbf.
4) Lustria where the lizardmen/seraphon was from was ‘southern America’ and not Africa. I know they look kinda similar on the map but still- another place on the globe and quite different from each other.

Thx for the rundown though - btw you have a great voice for this sort of thing👍

Thanks a lot for covering this Doug, it's such a touchy subject so many lore masters never even delve into what I believe was a really well put together plot and finale to 30 years of story. The books and battle plans were incredibly well written and you're 100% right that it jump-started what AoS is now. I think the 'no more square bases' and lack of initial believe-ability of AoS's background really lent a lot of hate to this damn great story, and maybe if GW released the AoS rules during the End Times it could have been a smoother transition...but it's done and although there's still remnants of hate, things didn't end up too bad Warhammer still rules.

Been looking for endtimes lore as my last time playing fantasy was in the early to mid 90s and these days getting into fanasty was going to cost way much more than it did back then, but with the release of AoS it looks like how 40k started smaller armies that won't cost a couple of thousand to make
