Ironically the one thing that could've upended everything was the truth of the Spirit King getting out in the chaos. Aizen very nearly told Ichigo. Still even if the system is still in place Shunsui has initiated unprecedented reforms to help all, acknowledging that they need to be and do better especially with revelations from Nayura of old Central 46's corruption. Yoruichi becoming a teacher is perfectly suitable for her, she's a mentor at her core and it's telling how she and Omaeda are the only popular nobility in the postwar era. The others not so much for obvious reasons.

With the losses the Soul Reapers suffered because of the war, it makes sense that reformers like Shunsui were able to implement changes that will make the Soul Society a better place. The old ways did not help them against the Quincy, and so a much needed change has now taken place. Time will tell what these changes will mean once the Hell arc continues!
