Anyway, you stay in pg / new place or at your home, you gotta do your chores. If you haven't learnt that home and have led a luxury, all this looks cool to be "moving out & then learning"!
I don't know what culture he's trying to promote.
To be a grown adult, pick up the responsibility, whether it be at your new place or at your parents place. It can also mean taking care of their parents for some. Stop generalising everything.
Cooking food, washing your clothes, helping the dishes, they all are basics and must know, irrespective of where you stay.
