Cruised past an RX3 om the way to work yesterday, bridge-ported with a big turbo; the spooling was among the loudest I've heard. It was probably on the way to 'the rotary only day' for Canterbury's long weekend. These gorgeous vehicles fetch huge prices now in NZ.

I assembled a Mazda RX3 and I still have what's left of it. Its body style is nice. The model kit was a birthday present from 2 nice teacher friends of ours in the early 1970s. I enjoyed puting it together

I love classic rotary powered Mazda sports cars like this. That beauty of an RX3 is LOUD and it RIPS!!! It actually sounds like an FD RX7 doing a constant tunnel run the way the sound of the engine just echoes the way it does

Before attempting to race maybe they could first find a bigger idle jet, and put some synchros in the gearbox. Gearshifts have a lot from a WW II era truck.

I believe that the best way to describe all of the RX- rotary-powed vehicles is that they're overweight motorcycles with two extra wheels attached for your safety.

Well, I wouldn't call that "screaming", great sounding car though. Must have either the worst clutch or worst gearbox linkage ever given the length of some of those shifts...

Definitely was being gentle with it, that pp motor could rev way higher than that, and wants too... release it from the shackles buddy! Apex seals are replaceable!...hopefully carbon to limit damage lol
