My biggest problem with this video is that it only went halfway in regards to the future of warfare. It did not discuss the future of self defense. I understand this video is discussing the future as it relates to the next 30 years. In Black Panther, Wakanda has an impenetrable shield protecting itself from outside invaders. Now obviously that’s science fiction but self defense systems will certainly advance. There’s already many technology being used like detection of foreign fighter jets and missiles. Will there be one day where the US can shield major metropolitan cities from a nuclear attack? I don’t know. Obviously, drones and automation makes defense less of a concern since if a drone gets destroyed, there is no loss in life, just equipment and potential technology that enemies can reverse engineer. Obviously life is the most important thing in any warfare. So having more sophisticated defense systems is imperative. The US hasn’t had to worry about defending itself domestically from any foreign nation in a long time. But in the event that it becomes a problem - say China attacks US - then an impenetrable defense system can save millions of lives. This video is entirely discussing an offensive war. But I need to hear the future of a defensive warfare.

Modern warfare is just too expensive to last for more than a year of conflict, after you run out of your stocked fancy jets and their factory's are blown up you are probably going to use WW2 technology to keep the war machine running as they are more easily mass produced and are easily replaced, as mitsi once said "you can have a very fancy tank, but once you encounter 1000 Sherman's on your way, you should Barbarossa all the way you came from"

Giving AI the power to make life or death decisions in terms of taking life removes all human responsibility.

It would be absolutely ethically bankrupt allowing this to take place. Humans will always need to be a part of the decision chain if we want to live in a more humane world and not accelerate further towards apocalyptic destitution.

No, we should absolutely not give full control to AI. not only could this backfire on humans, it may be able to be hacked with some of that cyber warfare, Also, swarm tech wasn't mentioned, but the same threat remains. Also, imagine robo cops, or robot armies in the wrong hands, Maybe a dystopian company, or wealthy maniac. I think we will continue to see a combo of manned and unmanned platforms,
