Origin of Han Solo Most Iconic Line

George Lucas initially hated the line and he apparently went apeshit over it. Lucas originally had Han Solo say "I love you, too" in the script. But most of us know that Harrison Ford came up with the "I know" line on the spot.

Excuse me. Solo's most iconic line is "Everthing's fine. How are you."

What I like about that line ("I know") is also the fact that Han Solo already, repeatedly, asked Leia about her feeling all along the movie and she always eluded the answer. So she already knows he loves her (he does not have to say it), but at the last moment she wants to be sure that Han also knows that she loves him too. So in a way Han answering that he "knows" is a WAY more meaningful answer for Leia than a simple "I love you too". It's not only a "badass" line, it's the exact answer she needs.

This doesn't explain "laugh it up fuzzball" at all...

"Hey, it's me!"
"I got a bad feeling about this..."
"Boring conversation anyway!"
"That's great kid, don't get cocky!"

Suggesting that Solo has 1 iconic line....

What made it iconic was he didn't sound cocky when he said I know. He said it more like in a loving way. He knew all along she loved him.

Given how Harrison Fords often reacts to star wars publicly, I'm impressed he remembered the term carbonite. Maybe he doesn't dislike the series as much as he would have us believe?

For a guy who hates Han (Harrison Ford), he really knows him well
(When the fuck did this get over a hundred likes?, this comment isn't even accurate)

"You want your badasses to be a badass till the end...you want they to go down they way they lived." So Harrison in his old fashioned way pulled this off.
Leia: I love you.
Han Solo: Eat shit.

Pshh He's playing it down. It is a brilliant line. In one way Han cannot bring himself to say he loves Leia because he doesn't want to be emotional in his final moments (as far as he knows) but also he stares deeply into her eyes as he says it, as if to say, "I know, [I've always known]", and that eye contact tells that the feeling is mutual.

This is an iconic line. I’ve used it so many times in reference to star wars. you can say it in so many ways it just fits anywhere.

I always interpreted the line as Han refusing to concede defeat; if he tells her THEN that he loved her too, he’s admitting that he may not survive this, and not have the chance to tell Leia again. But Han gives a big “f*ck you” to the universe and decides he’ll say that when he’s good and ready. And sure enough he says it in Return of the Jedi.

It's cool to see him enjoy the character of Han Solo. I've never really understood why he seemed to dislike the character that MADE him.

Since Carries’s book this line makes so much more sense as it rings true to their actual lives. So tragic :(

This is the most straight forward and congenial I've seen Harrison be about his role as Han Solo.

Now both of them are a part of Star Wars

This interview makes me smile. Everything about is just...I dunno...really pleasant. I'm trying to avoid saying it makes me 'happy' because I'm really not going for a pun here. Eh, you know what I mean - I hope.
