EPOXY WOOD TABLE BUILD:EASY GUIDE

I really wanted an Epoxy Wood table and they are just way too expensive on line. Some on Etsy were over $1000! With a little time and very little experience, I was able to build my own and YOU CAN TOO! I think the total cost in materials was $100 and the bulk was for the Resin itself. I used tools I think anyone would have laying around the standard Garage. There are more builds coming, and I am very excited to share them with you.

Not to be a stickler, but if any of your viewers are new to making resin tables, note that it is melaMine. Also it is wise to tape your surface with tyvek tape, even a few scratches will adhere to the resin and make separation difficult. A quick spray with Stoner mold release will help also.

Doing the pour in stages isn't a mistake its actually a good move as you reduce the bubbles and it settles better. Also best to under mix than over mix and end up with an excess.

Great video! To everyone I would recommend taking a few extra minutes to prep the mold. Use some sort of tyvek tape or wax to coat the bottom, or else there is a good chance the mold will stick to the epoxy and you'll have to peel and sand it off. I wish mine came off as easily as yours did in the video... but alas it did not and I had to spend several hours sanding it off

Protip for oil based poly - don't use it. Everything that used to make it good is now banned by the EPA. Use a wipe on water poly for the first coat, then second coat, then do a full strength brush of the water poly after. I end up using poly over glass coat on anything to finish it now because of indirect sunlight yellowing resins and the UV stabilizers in poly prevent it for quite a few years, especially if you do a wipe on poly every other year on it.
