Most amazing thing about it is that it weighs 1630 kg din with 60 kwh battery pack, it is almost 400 kg lighter than tesla model y, 800 kg lighter than porsche macan ev, 100 kg lighter than 2024 petrol VW tiguan, it is 400 kg lighter than toyota BZ4X with 70kwh byd pack, it is 600 kg lighter than bmw ix3, it is by far the best family ev crossover ever made, it's battery has 5C charging capability and 192wh/kg in pack level energy density one the highest ever in LFP battery chemistery industry, it's amazing battery pack will retain 88% of it's capacity after 3600 cycles compared with 3000 cycles for byd's blade battery packs and 800 cycles for panasonic NCA 21700 pack in the model y or 1500 cycles for tesla's own 4680 NCM model y for the same 12% battery capacity loss, geely just made history with this amazing ev

Deformation in a crash is the best way to absorb energy to limit damage and injury to the occupants. Thats why cars have crumple zones.

Fan from China here. Just made the deposit for E5. I did a test driving last week. Absolutely amazing driving experience and it got a very intelligent system, smooth and smart. Most importantly, quite affordable. 13000 CNY total

Sam, when you talk about range, please state which standard you are referring to e.g. WLTP, CLTC etc.

The hottest year on record, 2023, was also the most extreme for wildfires, according to new research. Both the frequency and intensity of extreme wildfires have more than doubled in the last two decades, the study found. And when the ecological, social and economic consequences of wildfires were accounted for, six of the last seven years were the most “energetically intense.” “That we’ve detected such a big increase over such a short period of time makes the findings even more shocking, ” said Calum Cunningham, a postdoctoral researcher in pyrogeography at the University of Tasmania and lead author of the study published Monday in the journal Nature Ecology & Evolution. “We’re seeing the manifestations of a warming and drying climate before our very eyes in these extreme fires.” Last week wildfires in New Mexico killed two people and burned more than 24, 000 acres; in Southern California, more than 14, 000 acres burned near Los Angeles.

I always do the Moose test. Preferably chocolate Moose. You make it by putting the chocolate on the Moose. Learned it from the Swedish chef.

Cars that deform in a crash and have crumple zones are safer than stiff cars which do not absorb the energy of a crash and transfer it to the driver.

Hi from Canada! The moose test is how much damage the passenger area receives when a moose is struck and collapses on the cab. God made a moose out of spare parts - much like a platapus. The exception is a moose weighs in excess of a 1000lbs with long legs. The struck moose has its legs broken by a vehicle and the body comes down very hard on the car when it's hit a 100+ kmph...

Geely are onto something. All their advertising is for EVs but they’ve just announced (2 weeks ago) that they have teamed up with Renault to build a range of small highly efficient IC engines for future hybrid cars. And we’re talking big, big money. So Geely obviously have done their research and found that IC engines have a very definite future alongside their electric counterparts. This is where Tesla will lose ground, they have no hybrids to offer.

Right now an ev has around 2 gallons of gas worth of energy and does around 250 miles. Imagine when you have double that, 4 gallons of energy and 500 miles. Batteries are so new that its inevitable with so much investments and having so many markets to sell a battery to. Batteries are the new oil.

To be absolutely clear, Sam, the highest crash standard is ENCAP 5. In the standard, the car has to yield or fold to reduce the stresses on your neck to as low as possible. In a rigid car the mass of your head will break your neck, which will be fatal. You will note that the bolts on a plane seat are designed to break to stop this happening. You have more chances of surviving flying through the air than being rigid with the plane. If the company is saying its cars are safer due to its rigidit, please do not buy one.

Tesla will undoubtedly crave this technology and be eager to acquire it. Once they obtain it, they will promote and hype it up, aiming to boost their stock price significantly.

Cars are designed to progressively deform in a collision. The crumple zones safely absorb kinetic energy that otherwise might injure the occupants. A gigacasting is mostly too stiff and hence more dangerous.

4:27 "Cell to body which is Giga casting"??? I don't think so... Cell to body is like a "million" pieces of batteries put to cells, "wrapped" to a huge battery pack and welded (or something strong bound) to the car, so basically that is the floor plate. Giga casting is hot metal injected into pressing machines and a full section of a car is created in 1 single piece. Both technologies can be used independently or together. Both making the car very strong but they are different things...

19, 000 to 25, 000 Europe, WLTP 400 km, 250 miles for 60kwh, plus fast charging, plus safety, plus charging cycles plus charging to 100% meaning more miles per cycle.

Imagine a year from now when Geely will probably be able to use a 50kwh battery producing almost 400 miles of range... Battery technology and integration is getting very exciting now....
