the stock gearing is probably whats keeping the ring and pinion alive - as you gear numerically higher the pinion gets smaller and smaller, which is bad for the tiny gears in the dana 30.

Love this vehicle. I am an old man but I have had many different 4x4 vehicles and the one thing I have learned. If you are serious about off roading you have to have a minimum of 37" tires. Whatever you have to do to get this tire size on your vehicle, do it!

Just subbed. Great video and build. Gotta love a V8. My Red Beast 2024 Power Wagon has a 6.4L Hemi with a modified exhaust and it sounds awesome as well. I have mostly built my rig out (suspension, RTT, etc) but still more tweaks to do in the future. I am running 38s with the stock 4.10 gears but the truck doesn't care and it seems to accelerate the same as it did with the stock 33s primarily because of the 8 speed transmission with a super low first gear. Also, in 4 low it just easily climbs over obstacles especially with the factory front and rear lockers and auto disconnecting from sway bar running on the factory ton axles. It is truly a Beast off road but a bit wider than Jeeps so definitely more pinstripes going down the trails especially around the Eastern US.

Great looking WJ! Dont mess with the DTill rear bumper, thats the beauty of his design! Welding it together sure, but adding plate to tje sides would make ot look loke a cheap, Chyna Amazon/fleabay bumper.
To each their own though, good looking either way 👌

Very beautiful grand dude.

I have 2 04s one 4.0l and one 4.7l... not quite as big as yours.... both on 35s. 4.0l in has 35s on a 4" rough country long arm lift with real Johnny joints and upgraded bushings, and stock d30 and d44A from a v8 model.

The 4.7 has overbuilt d30 and jk d44 shortened to wj width. Locked front and rear 4.88 gears. 3ling ironrock 6" lift ....

Also have a 2000 2wd grand cherokee 4.7 and an 02 grand with 4.7 HO

Need to get the D.till front bumper to match your rear bumper. I have the front and getting ready to get back bumper.and getting everything I need for the 6.2 hemi swap

Rear diff should be a 44a / 44hd, this will matter when it comes to changing oil & not being able to find a gasket, especially outside of the USA.

Can you do a bit more detail about the 242 swap? Mainly anything you came across that was an issue, or was it a full bolt on swap?

I have a 04 overland on 4 inch lift and 35s. I want the 6 inch lift so i can run 37s like you. Why did you go with biger springs?

Did you move to a double cardan style front drive shaft? I had a WJ with just a 3" lift and it ate up the CV end of the front drive shaft in no time.
