I'm hoping Diane will come to Andertons this summer for a Martin educational evening. She is a wonderful lady that is so passionate about Martin guitars you can't help but want one after you meet her!! I bought a D35 after I met her!!!

I've been somewhat dissapointed in the NAMM videos this year, until now. This woman obviously knows what she's talking about, but what made the difference is she made me feel like I was there. This is what a video on the NAMM show is suppose to be like. Awesome!

To answer your question, Brazilian rosewood was outlawed in the early 1990s. It was added to the list of endangered species of wild life Fauna and Flora as an endangered species. The harvesting and exporting of new timber was banned. This means, then, that wood harvested prior to the ban is permitted to be used, or so it seems to me. I have a son, for example, who owns a stratocaster with a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. He had it custom made I think around 2005.

I was going to buy a Martin this weekend but now I've changed what I want to look at. If she worked at my local guitar store I'd be broke from buying anything new she liked. This video needs some sort of award for best NAMM video or best Martin video or most useful Youtube video.

Your right about one thing, The Martin Rep Diane is great! NAMM is for manufacture's and buyer's only. No one goes there "wanting to play guitar". It's the largest music product show in the world. The people working in the booths are either the principals in the company and or their employees. They are the very same people who build and market the products they're promoting. NAMM is not open to the public. The vendors are only there to sell their products to retailers like Andertons.

amazing guitars....everybody should own one...having said that though...martin co is not the only company that can do a good job at copying a martin...i own a guitar that is an exact copy of a martin d-28 to every detail and sounds great...
