Do you want to grow giant corn in your garden? We just harvested a variety called Bloody Butcher, which grows well in our hot Texas climate. Two keys to successful growth are supplying your corn with sufficient water and fertilizer, and our drip irrigation helped us with both this year. This video takes you through our early soil preparation, to planting, to thinning seedlings, to watching our corn stalks grow over 12 feet tall.

I am planting the same variety of corn this summer and im kinda sad to see that the seeds are not as red as they advertise, I am mainly growing it to use it as ornament during next fall. Do you think I should leave the cob on the plant til is almost time to pull the plant out in order to get those red kernels? Thanks
