You've got a great camera man there. Good on ya mate for getting out there with your kids and missus ✌

Nicely launched and retrieved Scott. Trouble free boating for years fella. I use a hook on my safety chain for simplicity. Also use a turn buckle as Scott Everett suggested too. Cheers

Top video mate. Nice and controlled and an eye on courtesy for other ramp users. And get the kids learning hows it's done. Couldn't be better.

I've lost track of how many times I've seen people use their boat's motor to launch and retrieve their boats. I often wonder why they don't just walk it on and off the trailer like you showed in the video. To me, using the winch to pull the boat onto the trailer seems like the most straightforward option. However, I'm often surprised and concerned when I see people revving the motor and gunning the boat onto the trailer.
Thanks for a great video.

Good vid! Long rope, trailer in right depth is key. Solo launches and retrieval is the number one thing that gets me anxious when boating. Strongish crosswinds or currents make life a bit challenging but it’s doable. All about a good rope to play the boat in I reckon. Top vid!

Tie down straps would help too and make sure your engines bottom is covered whilst on road

On my D-shackle for the safety chain the previous owner put a nail through the hole on the thingamajig that you need to turn. Makes undoing it so much easier!

Has anyone ever come up to you asking you to pull the boat out without the safety chain? Happened to me at a busy boat ramp around Xmas. Laterally took me under a few mins from the pontoon to get the boat wrenched up. A guy came up to me and said get your boat out of water and put on the safety chain in the car park! You are holding up others!

You've got that sorted, very nice, I wasn't a fan of non roller trailers until I saw this! Did you ever do a video on why you went with the Mercury outboard? I think you mentioned in an earlier video that you were going to do one? I'd be keen to see it if you have. Cheers

Great video showing how easy it is to self launch if you are prepared and plan properly.
Seen far too many people get to the ramp and panic, can make a right mess of it.

Would be interested to see how you get on with a strong cross wind with the trailer so far into the water.
My guess is you would have to have the trailer further out of the water in this situation.

Whenever backing up, once I stop, I apply the parking brake before I release the foot brake and when during up the ramp I apply the foot brake before releasing the parking brake.

How do you like your trailer after 2 years? Mine uses rollers and skids. One of the pain points which you have also highlighted is you need to line it up because it does not self align. Skid trailer suitable for alloy boats?

Is driving boat on considered power loading …. We drive on even loading solo ….I do the same but have trailer guides poles which make it a little harder have to flip rope over them when pulling boat off

Yep wobbly rollers should be outlawed, they are nothing but trouble.

In docking the boat do you have to raise the prop?
