I prefer a torque wrench with a low profile head. That red box wouldn't even fit into the tight areas I work on.

Try torquing anything on transverse engines in the front timing cover or water pump or anything with less than 5 inches of room

The best torque wrench is one that's calibrated right and it doesn't come out of spec if it hits the ground or just by using it. Always good if you are in a shop with a few same range torque wrenches to check every so often so you don't get the turning stomach feeling after a 10h job because the manual called for a torque that was less than the elbow torque felt was right and you weren't sure if the tool clicked at the right time.

What I find most cool about those little things is how one can compare calibration with each other. If they are all in line, life is good.

I can see these being a pain for a lot of 3/8 applications, but they sell a 3/4 version for $70 when a 3/4 or 1" torque wrench can be up to $500. And, they're surprisingly accurate. So for semis or heavy duty techs they make more sense.

My autozone duralast 3/8 has seized on numerous occasions and will end up snapping bolts if Iโ€™m not paying attention; the entire assembly will get stuck and I canโ€™t even loosen the locking bolt to unwind it.
For example on my rear main seal carrier it has four bolts, 6lbs was the setting and it got stuck and I was rushing a little and turned it too much.

yeah that Eastwood wrench is quirky, its a good tool I got mine just for the angle meter.

Both work. The digital torque adapter can have clearance issues with a ratchet on it.

leverage is better with the longer handle.

Is that torque wrench the one from harbor freight if so do you recommend it to buy? Is it worth it? Can you do a short on that blue torque wrench

Box is to bulky. Depends on what your working on

charleshoover

I prefer a torque wrench because I do t trust those small attachments. If you can show that it's still in spec with months of use then I might be more convinced

Have you tested the TORQUE wrench with the adapter? Just see if they match

What will they think of next you bet they don't make cars that are worth using it on

Deflecting beam is the only way to go, no batteries, repeatable and reliable.
