Nowadays, the continuous monitoring of the body core temperature is an important measure for early detection of hypothermia.
Previously, this was accomplished primarily with invasive procedures involving the oesophagus or bladder because only these procedures guarantee a high degree of accuracy.
But now Dräger has developed a body core temperature sensor applied to the forehead of the patient that delivers the same accuracy when measuring body core temperature as invasive procedures.
