Wind plays a significant role in many applications, ranging from air quality monitoring, building design, and wind turbine placement to wildfires. Consequently, it is crucial that we accurately model the wind vector and understand how its variation changes under climate change. In this talk, I will present an overview of the methodology we propose to jointly model wind speed and direction. As we will see, this method helps us examine any changes in the distribution of wind speed and direction under a given climate scenario. Also, I will discuss my experience as a graduate student at Clemson University, hoping that this will encourage those thinking about pursuing a PhD degree in mathematical and statistical sciences.
