Off-Road Mode For The Tesla Model 3 AWD

We have unlocked the Model Y's Off-Road Assist for the Model 3, so you can drive comfortably on steep roads in challenging winter conditions.

This feature is available for all AWD Model 3/Y and it can be found in the Traction Controls of the S3XY App.

This feature will for sure come handy for me since ice and bad road conditions is a part of Swedish winter. Absolutely a useful thing for safety. Far better than the fart that Tesla themselves thinks is more important than a feature to help you out of road condition problems... I always tell you that you are a fantastic team.... Still think so and will say it many times again I'm sure..

This is the main reason I bought S3XY Knob and Buttons, and with the 2” lift kit, my Model 3 is now amazing. So much fun on bad dirt, sand or snow roads here in Australia.

This is a great feature to have control over with the commander!

I think its important to note that the model 3 long range kind of handles this on its own in the background though, which is made evident by using the S3XY dashboard. Without off-road assist enabled, once the car detects major slipping (like on ice/snow) it automatically switches to using both motors equally, and will also use brake/regen equally. This was made known a while back in a Bjorn video. The car automatically switches out of "off-road" mode once it no longer detects slip.

I use it all the time in the winter here in Norway, and with my Knob and Buttons it is easily acceccsible when I need it.

This feature makes my highland model 3 way better on snow. It used to struggle to get going due to the rear bias of the stock tuning. With Off-Road assist activated it clearly applies an even distribution of power and this feature alone will justify buying any of their packages that include the S3XY commander. The real question though is why did Tesla not give the model 3 this feature?

Any negative impact of using off-road assist for longer periods on icy roads. I can imagine might be more battery usage but anything else gets impacted as well in the car in a negative sense?
