Hi! We've been getting a lot of questions about Sabrina Carpenter's song Espresso and her using Nintendo in the lyrics. We worked at Nintendo for over 25 years combined and worked directly on Nintendo's celebrity program so let us tell you what Nintendo REALLY thinks about Sabrina Carpenter. Do you like this song?

Dang guys. How could you bring up celebrities and Nintendo without bringing up the commercial with Robin and Zelda Williams? That was legendary.

Did NOT know Sabrina went that far back with Nintendo. I got a copy of Disney Art Academy for review as a Nintendo Partner back in the day

She likes Mountain Dew, Nintendo, and a gamer, that is pretty cool to see celebrities express these things in a respectful and fun manner, I never heard of Sabrina before, but I already have a positive outlook on her very much and a lot of respect to her, same could be said for any celebrity no matter their gender, it's just fun and relatable and they seem like a general good person.

Paul Rudd was in that 90s SNES commercial... Nintendo knows what's up 😂

Alessia Cara wrote a whole song called "Nintendo Game" a few years back. All the lyrics are themed around various Nintendo games and gaming in general.

Christina Aguilera worked with Nintendo too, a lot of times. ❤

I also wonder what they think about Cardi B referencing Mario with “grab my coins like Mario.” Shes not the most family friendly 😂

They also had Paul Rudd in a SNES advert and Joe Keery in an amiibo ad before they got big through Stranger Things, super cool stuff

I constantly think about Notorious BIG starting out his verse with “Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis.
When I was dead broke, man, I couldn't picture this”.
Or Mike Jones saying “Blowin' on that indo', GameCube, Nintendo Five percent tint so you can't see up in my window”
Legendary moments in time.

Ed Sheeran and Katy Perry both collaborated with The Pokémon Company to create “Electric” and “Celestial”. Now that’s something that a music lover celebrates their love of video games.

I love that song so much. I was hype when I heard the Nintendo reference for the first time.

I'm thinking they try using a clip of this lyric and a switch ad! That would be cool.

What I’d like to know is how Nintendo feels about the “Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, when I was dead broke man I couldn’t picture this” line in Juicy by Notorious BIG

I love that artists mentions Nintendo in their songs. We had B.o.B’s Nothin’ On You mentioned that a girl got him frozen like a Nintendo 64, right? That’s how it got me flattered and how it got the solution because back in the 90s, Nintendo had a lot of issues with freezing capabilities on the N64 console. I just wished that somehow they could include a cameo of a Nintendo 64 in that line. So, it has been a pretty big deal for music stars to work with Nintendo as they are very popular as of today. They should do this with Sega and Capcom too. Besides, I’m a big fan of music and video games. So why not make a whole song about Mario, Pokémon, Kirby, or Mega Man?

I actually had not heard this song because I don't listen to the radio anymore and I don't use TikTok (just listened to it just to hear the reference), but it's a very not family-friendly song, so very interesting inclusion of the most family-friendly company in it. Publicity is publicity though.
