🚨 REAL TALK LADIES 🚨

Okay, here’s the story. I am supposed to be recording my Saturday workout for a November Challenge. I was all set up and ready to go. What happened?

1. My knee has been « off » even after a proper warm up. (Persevere)

2. The very first burpee felt like a struggle and I did not feel strong. (Persevere)

3. My ankle « locked » on rep 5 of my skipping, which has happened before but is unusual. (Try again)

4. I peed on rep 18 of the skipping. (STOP 🛑 ✋🏼)

Here’s a little bit of background.

1. 🍦 I have been eating a higher amount of « treat foods » which I know leads to inflammation & pain, which shows up specifically in my knee. (It’s okay. I’ll work on cleaning up my food intake this week.)

2. 😴 I haven’t been getting adequate rest, especially last night so my body is not functioning at an optimal level. (It’s okay. I’m in control of all of this via food intake & sleep hygiene.)

🥺 It’s been a humbling journey you guys. My hope in my sharing of this honest reflection, that you might be able to notice the signs that require you to slow down today to come back stronger tomorrow. Knowing when to shift into a different gear is difficult and humbling. 🥺

I will admit that I personally have always aired on the side of slow down… (since I’m a turtle 🐢) and that I need to work on the « persevere » aspect. I’m a work in progress y’all. I just hope that you slow down when you need to and that you feel strong when you push through the struggles.
