A little late and I know it was canceled, but I would definitely vote for the Fairlane

Give it a nice clear coat as a patina and deep clean the whole car and try clear all rust from under the body then it will be a dream it’ll take a long time but will be worth it. Great car loved the series

That Emberglo '66 beside the Fairlane looks pretty sharp...😉

I drove a burgundy"64 Fairlane stationwagon for a short time in high school. When you folded down the rear seat you had lots of

Seconding taking time on cooling. I took our classic Mini on the 2019 Power Tour. Huge fun! I made sure that the cooling was rock solid after doing a partial tour in 2015 in a more modern car. Saw so many overheating classics during that trip. Cooling, fuel, air and spark. Good fundamentals will reduce the risk and add to the fun.

I love fairlane but carrying stuff non essential is dumb unless your swapping along the way, flip the rear shackles till you replace tired iron. I also like comets so yard the engine and do any mods and freeze plugs and put hydro assist on double reservoir and trim whatever gets in way and lay a piece of three eights flat bar about two inches wide on opposite side on brace. Again yank engine as just too easy not to and check freeze plugs plus do intake and edelbrock carb with the mods to it to make dependable... loose the float problems. Find truck rad n make fit with a fan on front to make it there and back. Fuel cells on both have issues and solve them if you have to, mount smaller short range and debit card reserve. Old tanks either leak before done or don't tell what you have for sure.. electric pumps in glove box in case you need... thats what I would do

Mike - great video - welcome back. Sort them both and have your Dad drive one, you the other. Rotate when possible. Maybe?? I vote for the Comet. Love the Mercs! Chuck in NE Kansas

Pretty smart thinking to have all that moisture barrier all over the floors in there to keep the floor from sweating and killing those beauties from the bottom up. **virtual high five** my friend!!

You could go with an electric booster for the brakes if you don't have the riim

just drop a set of air adjustable shocks in the rear to solve your sagging issue on that fairlane!

Either is fine. You need a really good eval of both and pick the one that is most likely to be able to finish on time and under budget.

Probably gonna send Power Tour with my manual, 4 corner drum brake, stock suspension jalopy next year.

Uncommon cars don't get the aftermarket support, sadly, if I had a Mustang/Fairlane/Camaro/etc I would go nuts.
