I just realize something. In the ending, 47 was wearing the same outfit he was wearing in the trailer for the first HITMAN game where he was running 10km up a snowy hill. And the last words Diana said to him was "Good to have you back."

I think that trailer was the ending to the Hitman franchise. Not just promoting the game.

He skipped the cutscene between Diana poising 47 and the train mission. There is a few minutes of missing context that puts the ending into better perspective!
