Sea Monkeys were a popular novelty, advertised exclusively in comic books. Thanks to the brilliant artwork by DC Comics Joe Orlando Sea Monkeys became an instant hit. Their creator Harold von Braunhut also marketed X-Ray Specs, Crazy Crabs and other kid’s products, becoming a very wealthy man. But he had a shocking dark side that would eventually be exposed.
