I've the Humax HDR 1000s and I've the Humax Freesat Foxsat HDR. They are two of the best thing I ever bought in my life. I would never go back to Sky.

Getting rid of sky is the best thing ive done for a while.. Over priced..repeat programs..software issues..poor customer service...could go on and on.

so happy to see the vlogs back. i was thinking to get freesat as i got a sky box when i paid so much for sky. might just use my old sky box as freesat. same channels for free (minus the tv license of course).

Brilliant video :) I got rid of Sky over 10 years ago for the same reasons as yourself, but the main reason that pushed me to do so, was every now and again (More again than anything) It was was cutting recordings which was infuriating!! So I called them and wrote to inform them that I wished to cancel my subscription, after numerous times of calling support, but getting absolutely no joy, but when I was saying my bye bye's, they were tripping over themselves offering me deals upon deals to keep me as a subscriber, but I had enough. So I bought a Humax. I've had the same model since then, and only minutes before I watched your video, I ordered the very same one as you, which I'm looking forward very much to getting it. I live in Ireland, and a number of years ago, they shut down the analogue transmission, so in order to get the Irish stations now, we have what's known as Saorview, which is a digital transmission, but still pulled in via TV Ariel. I don't miss Sky at all, and probably haven't since the day I started using the Humax. Thanks again for sharing your video. Wishing you many years of happiness with your new Humax Freesat Box. I love Sky especially their new Sky Q Box. I do respect your opinion on the TV and Broadband company. It's your call if you want to change over. Although I think that Sky (currently) is worth paying for every month. Our family got a really good deal with upgrading (As we have been Sky Customers for a very long time) Their is just so much you can access.

Felt black mailed in to sky! I had £15 for Sky basic TV (HD) and after 12 months they up the price to £35!! I called to complain and they gave me super discount which would bring the price down to £20. So i decided to get rid of sky finally but could not find a replacement box. So Thanks

I have a Sagem PVR624DT from 2008, and there is no series link. I use internet players more these days because they're more accessible without fiddling about with remotes and menus. Useful for fast forwarding adverts though.

Well done for getting over 100, 000 subscribers on your last channel, I love sky as I watch the sport all the time and the wife likes to watch other channels too. But if it's not for you then all is good, You gained alike and a new subscriber.

I've had this same box for a few months now. I bought it after seeing this review! Not a single regret either. They have extended the On Demand functions too, as I can cast YouTube from my Android phone to it and use a Netflix account. I upgraded from an old Foxsat HDR+ box and this Humax is worlds ahead in speed and reliability.

Helpful vid for someone having to change for the same reasons. This might be a daft question when you disconnect the satellite cables from the Sky unit is it a straight re-connection to the Humax box?
