So, some people like Bastille's cover because they hear more emotion in it. And other people like the CIty High original because they hear more emotion in it. You do realize you're appreciating the same thing, right? (Music that conveys emotion well.) Some people say Bastille's cover sounds pretentious, distant, and inauthentic. Other people say the City High original is too upbeat, performed like a party song that doesn't fit its subject matter. Do you realize it could be that you're both right? Maybe both versions are flawed. And maybe they're both worth listening to, as well.

What's so beautifully tragic about this song is that people from all walks of life (and accents, since apparently that's something people get upset about) can sing this song and it rings just as true for someone in the suburbs as it does for someone in a ghetto.
Tragedy and pain are everywhere.

I like how they changed the genre completely it takes real artists to do something like that and have soul while singing the song. The original is still pretty good but this is more of my genre and I absolutely love this song.

This was the first thing I ever heard from Bastille two years ago and I still maintain that it's the best song they've ever done, including their other covers and originals.

I wish this became as popular as Bastilles cover of Of The Night was.
This is a pretty powerful cover in my personal opinion.
I'm not gonna say better than the original but sometimes old songs just need to be covered to feel a more modern story of the song and to relive the emotion that was exhausted from the original.
