Installing FreeBSD 10 on VMware ESXi 5

I created an automated script to install VMware tools on a fresh install of FreeBSD 10 on ESXi 5.X. Out of the box, VMware tools does not work on FreeBSD 10 and has to be recompiled with some patches. The script does everything needed and runs VMware Tools install script for you when it completes.

If you are installing on ESXi version 5.5 use the -5.5 command line option. Otherwise, for ESXi 5.0 or 5.1 do not use any parameters.

Requirements:
- Make sure you have selected the VM - Guest - Install/Upgrade VMware Tools menu item from the console before starting this script.
- When you install FreeBSD, also install the kernel source. The script needs it to recompile the VM tools source code.

Notes:
As a word of caution, there is no error checking being performed. If something goes wrong it will not give any meaningful error messages.

FreeBSD 10.1-RELEASE has been released recently. I have only tested the script on FreeBSD 10.0-RELEASE. I don't expect it to have any problems on 10.1.

FreeBSD 10 already includes support for the VMXNET3 network device. You don't have to worry about it.
