I love the Shangri-Las more but this is my absolute favourite 'girl group' record. (Sometimes it's Tonight I met an Angel 😚) The whole girl group era of 'teenage symphonies' marries simplicity & complexity so beautifully, it's a source of constant joy providing vivid social documentary of a lost age; camp & a genuinely emotional experience in equal measure; you can even dance to them!
