I just wanted to give an update - when packing up this puzzle for the final time, I took a tip from these comments and stored the puzzle sections picture side to picture side & tape side to tape side. I also layered white tissue paper in between each section to protect them further. Next time I open it up, if I see any issues, I'll definitely keep you all updated on here and on Instagram and Twitter.

As much as I hated that we were subjected to lockdowns the past year, one of the best things to come out it for me was finding your channel.

I have been using a delicate painter tape (yellow or purple) instead of the more aggressive blue tape. It makes taking the tape off a lot easier. I also only put the tape on in one direction. I don't intend on handling them very much so there isn't any reason to waste the tape. Also, I put the sections in the box face to face, or tape side to tape side. Just in case the tape chemically reacts over time (years not months), then the damage the tape does won't hurt the image side when stacking them all face up.

You're a clever, creative, entertaining lady. Thank you for continuing to provide us jigsaw puzzle videos.

Awaiting patiently for the 10 year report on the acid free tape!

I LOVE how thorough you are when you explain things like this! Are you naturally so detail-oriented, or is it in response to audience requests? If you would have told me a year ago that I’d be enthralled by the saga of a 24k piece puzzle, I would never have believed it... but it’s such a cool achievement!

I used this technique when you show it at the end of part 2 because I was missing 2 pieces (the issue of having a cat 😂) and it's works beautifully. I found one of the missing pieces several days ago and was able to put it on the correct spot easily. Hopefully I'll find the last piece someday 🙏

no code word? :o Karen, I just wanted to say that discovering your channel via the try guys is the best thing that has happened to me on youtube in the last 5 years. Your positivity and passion is infectious and leaves me happier than when I started watching your video. Your editing is so playful and friendly that I can just relax and let everything else fall away. Your videos have been a peaceful escape for me since I discovered them. I know it takes you SO MUCH effort to shoot and edit these videos but it is 24000% appreciated. All this is to say: Thank you <3

Karen, you are amazing! That puzzle was awesome. I've watched every single one all the way through. I'm currently working my way through my Nana's collection. She passed in June and I'm the only one in the family interested in doing puzzles. Whenever I visited her we would sit and chat and do a puzzle together. It isn't a large collection and sadly many are missing pieces but I feel her in my heart when I work on her puzzles. Love your channel! You have my dream job lol.

"This is permanent, because removing it will take up a bit of the cardboard." Have you been introduced to the Baumgartner Restoration youtube channel? I can just picture that video now: "The first layer is easy, I can get that up with just a scalpel. The second layer is a lot trickier. I can use water or a solvent to soften the glue, but that can get soaked into the puzzle material, and that can swell, and we don't want that. Let's take it over to the hot table, and see if heating the glue under vacuum will help loosen it a bit."

Thanks so much for your video. My daughter and I are so close to completing this same puzzle, but are now moving to Florida. Lots of stress over how we were going to move it! This is our solution. Thanks so much!

It's really cool to see how splitting the puzzle into smaller sections highlights all the beautiful details that get lost when looking at the over all picture!

Omg!! I just found you after years of not seeing any videos of you. I think I used to watch you when I was like 15, because you talked about graphic design and it helped me a lot in university. Grad to know you are good 🥰🥰🥰

Although I fully understand and appreciate your reasoning behind taping puzzles, I can't picture myzelf ever doing that except for 5000+ piece puzzles. Thank you for sharing your tips none the less!

I always love your tips. Thanks to you I can show people what the finish product looks like without putting the puzzle together again

I have come across someone on youtube that suggested using pva glue to glue your puzzles instead of puzzle glue. Puzzle glues are very expensive where I am living so I tried it on a small 300 piece puzzle. I mixed it with a little bit of water because it was a bit thick and hard to spread. I used a paint brush, one of those that are used to brush wood or wall, just a smaller size. It worked really well. I keep the puzzle in my room as a decoration. It stays vertically just like a cardboard would. It might be a better solution than tape because there is no chance that it can peel off.
