Scotland's Scone Palace, the crowning place of Scottish kings, is a site of immense historical significance. Scone was originally an early Christian church and monastery but became the ceremonial place for the coronation of Scottish kings since at least the 9th century. The Stone of Destiny, also known as the Stone of Scone, was used in the coronation of Scottish monarchs. It symbolized the king's divine right to rule and was central to the coronation ceremonies.

Thank you very much Madame for the sacrifices you have made to live at the side of your husband. I did not know about your severe hardship.

Thank you very much for this exceptional tour. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The history of this palace is staggering. I have such respect for the families who are charged with preserving the heritage and history of these magnificent places for future generations. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

There is a Pratchett book about the Scone of Stone, which is I think really based on this. It's about Dwarven politics, and crowing royalty etc. Check it out.

It’s absolutely jaw dropping to see the amount of money & tireless work that went in to just an overnight visit from a queen & her husband. I’m sure there was a lot stress involved as well as being overwhelmed by all of the royal entourage that she traveled with. But to go to such lengths of extravagance is kinda appalling. I get she was a queen, but it was already at that point a palace fit for a queen. I see this all over the uk in different time periods. They all did this. It’s crazy.

I like old castles, palaces and mansions, which is why I subscribe. Today I noticed the intro. It reminds me of Agatha Christie's stories and films. Old mansions with large parks and modern cars (Corvette) - I wouldn't be surprised if Hercule Poirot suddenly came around the corner, or mabye Inspector Barnaby... Thanks for the insights into such mansions.

Whenever (all the time) I fantasize about forever moving to Scotland, it's partly because, when I'm there, I don't have to hear THIS voice.

The most delicious of all palaces when paired with tea. I recommend a good Earl Grey.

Wow. What a wonder of a show! And it was a real treasure to have an American with William and Sophie to have a "slanted" perspective on it too. Great Sunday watching today. Thank Y'all, from the Great State of Texas, that's in the USA for those who may not be in the know!!

Ideas.... be certain your restaurant space would support weddings also. A botanical lane and greenhouse for teaching and plants for gardens and sale locally of plants to members. I also recommend an expanded docent program of volunteers to help maintain the palace home and gardens. You should have space for monthly art shows. a cutting garden for flowers for a florist for the community at large, events, restaurant n all public n private spaces. You talked about the children's playground you wish to put in. A young scollars learning center for botany and history. Also would it be possible to use a greenhouse also as a part of a butterfly house concept. Blessings on your 100yr plan!
