Kamado Joe Soapstone French Toast

The Kamado Joe Soapstone cooking surface is PERFECT for french toast, among other things! This is our first video on the Soapstone surface, so stay tuned for more in the near future! Here's the recipe for the French Toast Egg Wash:

4 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup Grand Marnier (this works extremely well with Amaretto also!)
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tablespoon orange zest (more or less to taste)

Wisk these ingredients together completely and dredge your bread in it before putting it on the soapstone to cook. It takes 2-3 minutes per side to finish using thick slices of artisan bread. Your time may vary so watch it closely!

What advantage does the soapstone give you over the half moon griddle

That looks so good. I'm not familiar with Soapstone (other than my wife wants it for our kitchen island countertops.) Is it basically a griddle?

Looks great John, quick question about the soapstone. is it good for searing meat such as burgers, chicken, etc. also how do you clean it?

after i dip the bread i roll it in panko and it gives it a nice crust
