I know there are fans of Shavkat all over the world. Not as many as Dagestani fighters have, but here in Kazakhstan, 90% of the people knew Ian Garry was going to be his toughest opponent. I myself scared to watch the bout live, I really wanted to skip it to watch the replay, but I woke up right at the time their bout came up and I had nothing to do but watch it lol. If anything, I don't rate Shavkat as the most formidable in the welter division. For me it's that brazilian monster Prates. 1. Shavkat could cancel the fight against Neal bcuz of his misweight but had no injuries n did put up on a great show

2. Could cancel the fight against Wonderboy bcuz of leg injury, but decided to fight carefully n won the fight

3. Could cancel the Ian fight but again he didn’t. Maybe he thought it’s gonna be as ez as Wonderboy… It’s like Cain Velasquez first fight against JDS when there were similar situation with Cain, he fought with injury and didn’t give JDS that pressure which he used to do as usual, awaited too much then got dropped!
