I got the LG DSP8YA soundbar with subwoofer and spent some time in finding the perfect settings when combined with the LG C3 tv as there was little to find on the internet. I tested this on the PS5 in GRID Legends to compare the settings. First I tried the tv sound mode sharing option on, with Dolby Atmos turned on. The AI-sound Pro mode sounded the best with those. But after some time I still didn't find it good enough. I turned tv sound mode sharing off (which automatically turns off Dolby Atmos). Then the sound mode called Bass blast pops up, which seems to sound better (the name suggests it already - it makes more use of the subwoofer). But Cinema mode also sounds really good so you can choose between those two. I also tested the other settings. I put DTV audio-setting on automatic. For screen and audio matching, HDMI (ARC)-device delay is put on 0. Bypass is turned off. The audioformat was difficult, but Bitstream seemed to sound a bit better than PCM, there wasn't much difference. Digital sound output is on automatic and eARC-support is enabled. All other settings are blacked out so can't be changed with these settings. On the PS5 you can also set the output device to soundbar. Someone on Reddit mentioned to put it on AV-receiver so you can customize your channels but I guess that only works if you have additional speakers placed around the room, because if you change the speaker positions setting, no difference can be heard. The audioformat setting on the PS5 is by default on LPCM (while in the settings of the soundbar Bitstream sounded better than normal PCM). But on PS5 you can change it to Dolby Atmos if you like (but LPCM seems to sound as good or even better) and it will turn on Dolby Atmos on your soundbar without the tv sound mode sharing being on. If you put the soundbar on PCM you can't put Atmos on the PS5. Hope this info is useful.

I'm a bit confused when it comes to ATMOS soundbars. When I'm watching content that doesn't take advantage of ATMOS - what kind of sound codec is it going to choose for me? Or are the speakers going to emulate Stereo sound? Sorry if it's a weird or stupid question - I genuinely don't get it.

Does the soundbar support true hdmi 2.1? Or is like the DSN8YG that it only supports hmdi 2.0. Am considering switching with with the soundbar because of my Xbox Series x. Currently I can not select 120hz and Dolby Vision with my soundbar (DSN8YG) because it has no real hmdi 2.1 interfaces.

To whoever considering this. U will not regret it. It separate people voice and bass and mid perfectly. Before i bought this i bought Sony G700 at same price. But the bass is so overwhelming. Even people voice got bass. My wife hate it. So i call the shop.
Luckily i can change to this LG because on same day and almost same price. On sale discount ofc. Sony lilbit expensive.
