In his interview with India Today, Kishore Mahbubani, former President of the United Nations Security Council, posits that the emerging thaw in India-China relations ahead of the Kazan summit could redefine world politics. The meeting between President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a 'very big deal'. Having closely observed geopolitics for 50 years, Mahbubani believes that trust is immaterial in international relations, instead, the convergence of national interests is key. He also delved into the BRICS role as a counterweight to Western institutions, with China and India's alliance bolstering it further. #indiatoday #kishoremahbubani #indiachinarelations #itwebvideos #bricssummit #bricssummit2024 #kazansummit #geopolitics #brics #xijinping #narendramodi

Conversion of interests and understanding of each other instead of trust and personal relationships is the foundation, well said. The guy should get educated as well. By the way, show your respect and don’t interrupt.

Rahul Kanwal has developed the very bad habit of interrupting his guests right in the middle of a sentence. A poor interviewer. His questions are too long and he ends up taking more time in asking questions than he gives his guests to answer them. Total buffoonery.

Professor Kishore is a legend, he has been living and working in Singapore that he understands Chinese people and thought very well, including China. He seemed to bear the brunt of buzzingly noise for the first time

Mahbubani: India China border over some barren rocks is not important. The global interests of these two countries are important.
Anchor: Selling the "Scary Northern Dragon" story to the Indian public is how we media get paid.

the interviewer is more about prove himself right than give the interviewee the platform. Classic NPD.

The host is debating rather than interviewing. He is a terrible journalist.

Rahul is not very professional as a newsman. He is overtly nationalistic and he suffers from severe confirmation bias. His usual trick is to put across his own thesis in different ways to his interviewee and tries to strong-arm his interviewee to confirm it.

In this interview, Rahul tried so many times to get The Hon. Ambassador Kishore Mahbubani to confirm his thesis that China is crumbling, China came begging to India to sign this truce, China is desperate for Indian markets, etc.

The Hon. Ambassador was calm and balanced, patiently but firmly swatting away those nationalist pretensions and explained why the de-escalation is in the strategic interests of BOTH countries. Of course BOTH countries benefit from lowering tensions and improving cooperation. Why would India sign this truce if China is the main beneficiary?

As for the truce - it is good that in the end, cooler (and wiser) heads in both countries prevailed.

Kudos to both Indian and Chinese leaders and diplomats.

India did not even win an Olympics gold metal, what can Brics expect from India, Hopeful it doesn't make trouble for US is a pleasure.

This media guy super naive, hugging each other seems to define closeness of friendship, as an optic yes, but don't bet on it!And not to forget Chinese culture, hugging is not comfortable practice of the Chinese people, even among husbands and wife. Hugging is more a western norm. You can bet your last dollar Chinese is about respect and giving face to each other. Maybe Indian leaders like Modi, hugging for politicians are for the camera, that one is equal.

I think this commentator Rahul is unprofessional and rude. Let your guest finished the sentence before you interrupt. Anyway this guy Rahul is also anti-China from the way he threw out stupid questions hoping Kishore to talk something negatively about China.

This guy doesn’t even know how real time digital currencies transaction ( already 192 countries are working) will phase out mule vehicle dollar as soon as by next 2-3 years. All the printed dollar will cause hyperinflation in US. That’s what the west dread the most and putting pressure on India.
