NO ONE back in Czechoslovakia told us that the car was called "Estelle"... For us it was just 105 or 120. The "coupe" was called Rapid but these 4 door models only had the numeric badge.
I was born 1983, our first family car which my parents bought in late 80s was Škoda 105L. And I had to wait for like 30 years until like 2 years ago to find out here on Youtube that the car was abroad called Estelle. :)

What a marvellous clip. Simpler, happier times. These were honest, robust cars. Never understood the stick they got. Estelle, Favorit and Felicia were great cars and excellent value. Far more reliable than most of the mainstream models available at that time

Here in New Zealand, i owned a 1980 120L. It had the twin headlights and chrome bumpers. I bought it in 1985. It was hilarious and dangerous to drive with 4 people aboard as the steering just didn't cope. I went over a pothole o ec and the entire heating system fell out from behind the dashboard . I do wish i had on e today . Funnily enough i own a Citigo now.

Great film, thank you. Not only have I owned 5 Skodas, and really reliable, ans economical motors they were too, but I lived just up the road from this plant in kings Lynn in it's heyday back in the early 1980's. A fantastic 'blast from the past'.

In the rally 1200 cc class Skoda won for 17 years ! These cars were very good value for money !

Interesting film! In Finland we didn't have any vinyl roof models (LSE). Gls was the highest spec. Rustproofing was mandatory for all imported new cars in the 80s and it was done not just superficially but also inside sills, doors etc.
