"Some people you just have to love from a distance" : wisest piece of advice I ever got. Came from a counselor at a Christian battered women's shelter 16 yrs ago. I thought I was supposed to hate my abusive husband and when I told this lady, that was her reply. To tolerate a narcissist's behavior is to directly call evil good.

As far as dealing with the covert narcissist, there doesn't seem to be a way for them to see their need for repentance and when they do apologize, it's only to ensnare you back to the way the relationship was

Being passive to those stepping on boundaries and abusive behavior has to be met head on or you will continue to feel like a door mat to those folks. They wipe their feet and leave!

This was really eye opening and encouraging. My ex narc girlfriend could not stop seeing another man, and I kept being gracious and forgiving her. But I just couldn't tolerate it anymore after the last time so I just had to tell her I'm done. It was a hard thing to do because I loved her. But she is unwell and I realize that. But I can't let her destroy me.

Yes, I was just explaining to someone today that David was surrounded by enemies, he was fearful and cried out to God in his distress.

Also, Jesus was fearful when He was being beaten. He also told His dosciples to flee when they are persecuted. To God be the glory. 🙌✝️

I always believed we had just to accept whatever people do & just forgive. No anger; no confrontation; in fact, as a youngster, I was always punished for confronting anyone…. especially if that person was an adult.
