WarOwl has literally been providing legitimately useful feedback to CS:GO devs since the CS:GO beta. Cannot believe they missed him.

I was on the bus back from school when the trailers released, and boy, did my face light up, i was hyped af, and my friends all agreed, saying they have never seen me this happy before.

The worst part is it's all the valorant players getting keys

3.5k hours, high rank, good trust factor (as far as I know), no bans on any steam game, and 70k of skins didnt get me in lmao

Bro i remember when valo came out 3 years ago every content creator had beta access. They reached out to them all. Look at Valve they gave keys to kids who play on MM servers. Not even pro players with thousands of hours got the key. Didn't expect better from them ngl.

someone at valve has a grudge against anomaly and isnt letting them send him a key.

CSGO content creators aren't gonna advertise CS2 to people that don't already know about it. Valorant players however will. It's stupid, but that's why. Same reason apex legend players don't get apex legend sponsorships.

I was the only one in my local gaming group to get it (super honoured and thankful, but very surprised!). Someone else theorised that accounts like mine (fairly new in the scheme of things with lots of hours in the past year or so) might be more likely to get it than veterans with countless hours over the past decade, as newer players may be more willing to accept (or even enjoy) big changes.

Honestly not sure, but again, I am very grateful to have gotten in on day 1 - i've been loving it so far ♥

Value likely did not invite Skins content creators to minimize the market impacts, I don't think the skins are completely figured out. Examples like Sun in Leo shows that people will jump on anything. The market impact has already become larger then anything we've seen before and its possible inviting Skins content creators could've made the impact much worse.

I get that this must suck for the creators left out. From an IT project view, I would say that Valve is in a phase where they are already overwhelmed with the feedback received. I suppose they work in sprints on the bugs and changes and at the current state, too many testers would make it impossible to manage the feedback and prioritize. I would assume they do something like bi-weekly sprints and fix the most important stuff before letting more people in. They are too busy to care for individual fates, as hard as it sounds. At least that's how I would do it in a nutshell, and I work in IT project management for 8 years now. I suppose it will take Valve 2-4 weeks until they let in a new wave of players, and probably add 2 more maps or so.

I have 8k hours if you count csgo and css, 11 years old, level 104 account, no bans, no alts, been GE, +1000 wins in MM, 80h last 2 weeks mostly in MM, and I was part of the original csgo beta. No access. But my level 9 steam account friend with 200 hours in csgo / 0.5 last 2 weeks, got it. It's definitely random.

Turns out Valve doesn't think "content creators" matter for CS nearly as much as you guys think they do. Wonder what their numbers say.

Warowl have a sticker in game actually shameless that they didn't even invite him on the moment it dropped he had to tweet that he doesn't have access even though he has devoted his career into cs, fans had to tag cs and actually beg for warowl to get it. I don't know wtf devs were thinking

None of these people are entitled to access, clearly online fame has warped the perception of their importance. Just because you are a content creator doesn't mean the media relies on you, you rely on the media.

So content creators should matter more than the public? Pros regardless of social media should get it first before "content creators." It seems you guys must deserve codes more than us general consumers. Half the creators don’t even know what they are talking about let alone advice for the game they just bandwagon and don’t really play.

Here’s the thing you need to consider. CS content creators are dependent on CS not the other way round.

All the biggest CSGO community YouTubers will produce content regardless for better or worse.

There’s a market of CSGO players who will always be loyal to CS, they are safe bets and community youtubers represent that demographic.

You know what market Valve want to attract? Shroud’s market, people playing Valorant, Overwatch etc. Giving access to them (and their audience) is good marketing and builds hype and anticipation for the new game.

The ‘why don’t I get a golden ticket’ vibes coming from some people in the community seems a bit entitled. It’s pretty smart from Valve if you take a step back.

I know fl0m had an issue where he was not in right when the beta started despite being in the playtest and the devs reaching out a few days early to get his profile link to make sure he was in. I assume they had issues with rolling out the beta to the right people. That said, those issues should have been resolved by now, and people not in yet surely were not supposed to be in the first wave.

I think I narrowed it down. The reason is because they know they'll report on skins, as the changes happen leading to big market trends and upsets when CS finally fixes skins. I think it's the same with the RMR Holos, how they're being tweaked, and that led to their value jumping. I think CS are trying to avoid this type of in a sense market manipulation.

I respect valve for treating content creators the same as all the csgo fans.
