Wow, this song brings back so many memories for me, I didn’t realize it until that first note hit my ears. Nice reaction guys.

I was 11 in '77. It's a bygone era (old man shakes fist at cloud :-) The music of that time will never be matched. I discovered Styx, Yes, Moody Blues, etc. during that period. Glad you guys are getting to experience this stuff.

this song crossed over so many genres, country, rock, pop, RB, even blues and jazz...a lot

A #1 hit in 1977, very much in the blue-eyed soul style of Hall & Oates.

Brad the song you’re thinking of is “Oooh Child” by The Five Stairsteps. A true classic of early ‘70s soul music.

If you grew up in the 70's into the 80's this is a very powerful and nostalgic song that conjurs up memories of lost love. Many young (and old) 'broken-hearts' jammed this one hard back in the day and it still reminds me of a few 'that got away' every time I hear it. For those of us that lived it, it can really bring back a major case of 'the feels'.
35 years later and I still love and miss you Gabrielle ❤.
Brad, you might have heard this in a commercial or movie.
Peace and keep rockin' guys..✌️🤘😎

This is one of those songs that never goes out of style and people of all ages sing along!
They remind me of Hall & Oates - “She’s Gone” and songs like that.

I love this song released in 1977! Player’s biggest hit without a doubt! Ron Moss (in red) needs to come back to The Bold and The Beautiful!❤️❤️

i was watching this, grew up listening during this era, and then recognized the bass player's face; RONN MOSS, who played the original 'Ridge Forrester' on the 'Bold & Beautiful', from 1987 - 2012...!!!

Peter Beckett, the lead singer, came to America from England to try to make it big in the biz. His wife eventually got homesick, gave up on him, went home, & divorced him. He wrote this song about it, & became a star. Hope she was sorry! So many good-looking men in one band. My, oh, my! 🎸 🎹 🥁

I saw Player in 1978 when they opened for Heart and they were amazing. A good live band which takes a lot of talent.

The bass player in red is Ron Moss, and acted on the Bold and the Beautiful for 25 years.

After having taking BABY COME BACK for granted lo these many years, I now seriously believe this is one of the best modern pop songs ever written and performed. From the lyrics to the melody and how every instrument and vocal harmony is on point and supercool. It's laid back and smooth but at the same time it has a harder edge than most R&B tunes. Simply brilliant.

I am a proud 71 baby and this kind of music is my life and I would take their concerts over a lot of them now, any one of them could sing lead and still be a platinum album. Singers thought process back then along with a different kind of heat added to the charisma of their music! Thank you and keep of your good work because as you feel our music you feel our souls. ❤

I remember this song so well. They played it on the radio Still do. In the video The bass player used to play Ridge Forrester on the Bold and the Beautiful

Remember that all those singers and musicians grow up listen to a completely diferent kind of music as their parents were listen to 40s and 50s music....
For me all this "new" groups from late 60s, 70s and 80s are forever the best. They change the world.

Lex seems to have an innate ability to verbalize her emotional interpretation of the music regardless of the genre.
