I've met the guy who invented this! He was incredibly nice to me and sent me home with free seed, fruit, a few plants, and some shared knowledge. Great guy.

I laughed when you commented on your hands. Growing up, my dad's hands were always stained....he was a mechanic. My nails are perpetually full of garden dirt, and I'm usually barefoot, so the toes suffer also....

Always exciting to learn about quality tools. And especially meaningful to buy from a producer in USA. Thanks for the fun demonstration.

For those trying to find out how to order this in October 2023, I found this in a backdoor search (not linked from their website): "ATTENTION ALL CUSTOMERS: please hold all order until further notice. I will try to fill all outstanding orders as soon a possible. At the present time I will be undergoing pre-treatment for cancer. Will try to keep you updated on status. Thanks, Gerald Gardner"

I only have about 50 of these trees on my property. Looking at a nut cracker and so far this one is at the top of the list.

My father's family had a black walnut orchard in MO, thanks for posting your video.

Handy little tool there. Thanks for pointing out the nut shell stain on your hands. I'm very interested in natural stains and dyes. I have heard wood could be finished with nut shell stain, but haven't tried it yet.

I've seen things like this at the Pennsylvania Farm Show. So simple. A lot easier than using a vise or a hammer.

Thank you for the recommendation. It looks like a very practical nut cracker design.

English walnuts are too easy, lol. But that's impressive with the hickory and black walnuts. I've always used a vice, but your tool looks like it works really well, and efficiently enough to be practical for a lot of nuts! I'm with you that Shagbark hickory nuts are the best tasting nuts of all. I think, followed by the Shellbark hickory, then black walnuts, then pecans, then English walnuts, then hazelnuts. Chestnuts are in there somewhere, but since they get cooked first, I don't count them the same way. Here's to an enjoyable winter of eating nuts! They are so underappreciated as real food.

Thanks so much for this video. I have been collecting shag-bark hickory nuts and have succeeded in cracking fewer than 20 nuts. I just about gave up! I will order it today.

I just found your channel, and love the info that you share, thanks. I also just started a green house this year and started many fruit trees from seeds, keep up the great videos, // mark from Indy.

I clicked on the link to the master nutcracker website. It has information on shipping, but I don’t see any order form to click on to find out the price of the nutcracker.

I'm fortunate enough to own a bench vice. You can learn how black walnuts crack so you get a lot of bigger pieces.

The link in the description only takes me to a page about the cracker. No buttons or index to click on. Might be because I’m using iPhone?
