Also, in Monarch, the cash flow dynamic bar graph reports with a trend line is by far my favorite aspect of Monarch. If Simplifi could steal that…. 🎉

Thank you!! I’ve been using Monarch and sometimes it becomes too busy (data/visuals). Any suggestions? I also find the AI to continually categorize incorrectly. In your experience, which 2025 tool has been showing the greater focus on AI as well as design UX improvements?

Regarding income planning in Simplifi, you can set up your income as a recurring transaction. This will forecast your income in future months and it actually worked better than Monarch for me because it correctly forecasted when my biweekly pay would hit 3 times a month. I have to manually enter this increased expected income in Monarch.

I am looking for an app that is more on the financial planning side that will give me forecasts for several years into retirement. I am currently use the Simplifi but it only gives me the current year. Do you have any suggestions for true future financial planning for several years?

Thank you very much for this video! I have been using a spreadsheet for about 5 years. I used Quicken Deluxe a long time ago. Don't really remember why I left it. I set up a Monarch account and was playing around in it and getting frustrated because of its inability to do the cashflow, how much will be in my account at a given time, feature. It was good to know that is not available in Monarch. There are certainly features I liked about it, but that may be a deal breaker for me. Any suggestions? Should I just go back to Deluxe?

great comparison. there are gaps in the transaction data in monarch, it's never 100%. switching backend bank connectors (Plaid, etc.) sometimes improves, but it's never 100% and unfortunately sometimes the missing transactions could be significant. how have you found the data accuracy in Simplifi? thanks in advance.

I currently have Monarch for a year. I came from Mint and imported my transactions from Mint. I feel like this was the worse mistake that I made with Monarch. I tried to like it but I am about to move to Simplifi. To me it is easier. I like simple and Monarch was just too complicated to set up. I think because you have used Monarch for so long, It comes more natural to you. But to me Simplifi is geared to what most people would be used to and it's cheaper.

Hi, thank you for this video! Did you find any other app that the couple can see the net worth/budgets separately and jointly by any chance?

I listened to the end hoping feedback would be provided on their apps - did you test their apps or just the desktop version?

Tried Mint then Monarch then YNAB and now Simplifi.

Would say Simplifi is hands down better than all options especially considering the price! Only complaint so far is I wish there was a way to create sinking funds in Simplifi.

I think you briefly touched on it, but was hoping for some clarification. If I wanted a notification sent when credit card spending hits a threshold for the month Quicken Simplifi would be better for that?

My wife and I use credit cards for all our transactions because of the points, so would like to know in general when our spending has hit a certain threshold so that we can plan accordingly or stop spending.

Thank you for this video!

Great video. Potentially doing an app review next would be helpful as well
