This is a perfect example of why we’ll never have a gas/electric fridge. Great information as always!

If you have one of those days where it is just plane hot outside, sit a fan outside of the bottom vent on a ladder. Angle the fan where it blows up through the vents. It will make a huge difference.

I don't have fans on the back. My fridge wasn't cooling because it also was getting full sun. I needed shade. I have a chair umbrella that can be mounted anywhere on a chair. I put the chair behind the camper and attached the umbrella to it shading the lower vent. Worked like a champ. Neighbors probably thought I was wacked...

I’m so glad I converted my Norcold 1200 series fridge to a J C Refrigeration compressor unit. My fridge is set on three and it stays at 34° and the two different freezer compartments are at 7° and 8°. Thanks for the video.

Great video. One thing you can do is move the top of the baffle in farther to force the airflow over the fins.

Just got back from Arizona. It was 116 in Needles. We lost all our food because the fridge couldn’t keep up. Thanks for the tip I’m putting in fans.

Our fridge vent's out the top of our RV. I installed the Titan dual 120mm fan kit on the top vent and mounted the controller inside just below the fridge. Just doing that made a MASSIVE difference. It used to take 24 hours for our fridge to do the initial cool down before a trip, now it takes about 8. I can park in the blazing sun and not worry about fridge temps. Always 0-10 F in the freezer and 33-36 F in the fridge. Opted not to use the thermostat feature on it, instead just run them full tilt until its cool, then at 3-4 setting to maintain. Very quiet, don't hear them. Worth every penny.

Love your stuff and we have the same Rv. I wired 3 intake fans on bottom and 2 exhaust on top. Zip tied them to the black covers and they are wired into the thermostat. Exhausts a ton of heat and has kept the fridge cold even in 100 degree temps. Best mod we’ve done.

I have experimented for the past few years with this idea that I will share with you all, Dometic recommended that there only be a 1 inch clearance from the back wall (outer wall) to the bottom boiler, two things that I have found eorks great for me, I built a false wall raised two inches from the bottom and running up the back of the fridge and stopping just beneath the upper cooling fins, this creates a true chimney effect. This partition goes from the left wall (when looking from the back of the fridge to the cumustion chamer and flue), I tgen placed another partion along side the round flue, raised up a few inches for cumbuston air and to allow air from the bottom to go up the flue and around it, the partion goes right up past the cooling fins to the top of the fridge cabinet, I temperature tested the round chamber when fridge was under a load, from 450 F to just over 500 F, my upper side wall vent allows for me to have the hot combusted air and gases go out the vent and not mix with the air that has gone through the upper cooling fins, prior too splitting and using two chambers, the hot gass from combustion were mixing with the air and depending on the length of your round combustion chamber, some of that hot air was also being sucked through the upper fins, we can not expext our upper fins to cool if the air is allowed to mix, with my frige on 4 out of 5 and tge trailer totally closed up and ambient temperature outide of 100.4 and inside trailer temperature of 107.6, my fridge woukd freeze a watter bottle in the main fridge area, i had install a Beach Lane and have also used Titan fridge cooling fans, and both work great, hope this helps,

I have seen in the past from other video creators, on the inside of the refrigerator on the fins is a black tab. By changing the location of that black tab, changes your refrigerator temperature.

Thanks Jared!
When I was camping in in VA at 100+ - I placed a large 2 sq foot blower fan facing toward my fridge inlet vent, and it really helped keep things cooler than they were, and was a cheap quick-fix. -
Cheers!

Ive renamed ours to Nevercold because we had the same issues. I now have double fans inside the fridge and outside mounted on the back of the top vent cover. Ours does much better now

I usually have a long table setup along the side of my camper where we plug in our appliances. I have a Vornado fan that I use up against the vent to push air into the fridge. Works great and the speed is variable.

I have tried all of these things and at best absorption fridges are crap! your tips helped some but our next RV will have a residential fridge with an invertor and a few big lithium batteries on our next rig!!! Keep the excellent videos coming. WE enjoy all your tips in layman's terms and most are not to technical for all us dummies. LOL!

I had to add some fans to my last RV as well. I actually mounted mine next to the fins though to pull the heat away.

In enjoyed seeing what to look for when buying. I think this important for the rookie Rv buyer. Something you may want make a video on. High Rise rear tail lights. I had a friend get rear ended by the 3rd vehicle back, because he did not see the low tail light on most trailer. Since I have added 17” led 3 wire tail lights to my 5th wheel . 4 other friends have done the same. And they cost much. I could send you a photo?
