A lot has changed in the last year when it comes to how PvP plays out in Sea of Thieves; Where it used to be all about going out and finding an opponent the hard way, has now changed as you can be matched up against another player, willing to fight, with the press of a button.

So what does an average day of PvP look like in 2023? That's what I'm here to find out. So join me as I get into some Hourglass PvP as a Solo Slooper in an attempt to build up a winstreak.

Average moment of PvP for me usually involves the following.

Step 1 - See a massive brawl going on in some part of the map just as I'm selling my loot and decide it might be fun to get stuck in and get some experience.

Step 2 - Sail to said brawl, psyching myself up to fight through it no matter how bad I am.

Step 3 - Fling a little iron, maybe land some hits

Step 4 - Get boarded, maybe get a hit or two in before falling.

Step 5 - be shaking so bad I can't think straight - give my killer a courtesy "GG" and log off while i deal with the shakes.

I'm over 50 man, my heart can't take the Adrenaline with I'm solo slooping :D

I had a long discussion with a buddy recently about what we would change in this game, as this is one of both of our favorite games. We never play it because of the lack of progress saving and the PvP system, but one thing we landed on was a limit on total repairs. Once a hole is patched any additional hit is immediately a level 3, any hit before patch is elevated to 3, and have ships have a total “health” in addition to the holes and sinking. You can’t just infinitely repair. Once you take enough hits you have to dock for repairs, and those repairs aren’t instantaneous. It should take 5-10 minutes. You are now on the defensive and guarding for repairs or hunting the ship you’ve been grinding on that’s low, etc.
