Afghanistan's healthcare system is buckling under the strain of COVID-19. Only five hospitals are equipped for treating infected patients, after more than 30 facilities were forced to close due to a lack of doctors and medicines. The only COVID-19 treatment hospital in Kabul is short of oxygen and medical supplies. There isn't even enough fuel for heating as winter temperatures drop below freezing during the day. Medical staff have only received one month's salary since the Taliban took over half a year ago.

The covid cases in Afghanistan is literally a fraction of canada. Same population yet only 10 to 15 percent of them are vaccinated. Over 80 percent vaccinated in canada. We have health much better health care in canada. And they have a small geographical area with people closer to each other. Makes no sense to me.

When given a chance some nations grab it with both hands. Others aren't so bright...
