Bristol should’ve fought harder against this like we did in Manchester. They put the signs up and cameras but we didn’t allow it.

These thieves should be concerned about their own health!

Just taxing the poor. Our 200k mile Volvo diesel now produces less pollution than the production of a brand new Tesla.

Just another tax! They can't even tell you whether you've entered it or not. As a non resident I'm supposed to pay if I think I might have entered it and won't get a refund if, in fact, I didn't enter it. With all the invasive surveillance surely you should be able to check online to see whether you've entered the zone and pay accordingly. The criminals running this private island need to be thrown in prison!

Nobody owns the air so they cant charge for it. Dont pay any illegal fines

We elect people to represent us, not to impose rules on us that make our lives more difficult. Don't pay these fines, ever.

I lived in Bristol for over 35 years but moved 5 years ago to South Wales. I had not been to Bristol in 2 years and recently wanted to pop in to a shop in Hotwells. Discovered they now had a Clean Air Charge and tried to avoid the centre but impossible to do to get where I needed. I won't be back to Bristol in a hurry. Having a clean air charge is all good if there are cheaper though more inconvenient alternatives to a car but there aren't. Park and Ride is a rip off and buses are unreliable. This is another tax and the council want their cake and they want to eat it. If you want people to not use their cars they should have compromised with a very cheap park and ride.

"we've always been mindful of the financial challenges facing the public during the current cost of living crisis. So, out of the goodness of our hearts we'll ONLY charge £9 per day, obviously we will increase it as soon as possible."

The age of a car should make no difference. It’s the emissions that it produces. If a 2005 car produces the same emissions as a 2018 car how can it be right that one pays and the other doesn’t? The pollution issue in Bristol is down to the council slowing down traffic, not repairing huge pot holes and rearranging the road network to make journeys far longer than they used to be. For the women at the end talking about children and adults having breathing issues, this is mostly down to obesity. Just look at people now, they are all over weight, this leads to cancer, heart conditions, asthma and the rest!

We’ll just ignore all the pollution from Bristol airport then?

There’s some sense behind the CAZ but there are problems. First bus company is terrible and including the port way while still directing traffic there from the motorway without warning feels like entrapment.
