Omg you're amazing! I'm so glad i found  you because I'm really having problems right now with this whole med school ordeal. I'm going to definitely watch more of your videos. Thank you so much for your insight! You're going to help me so much.

You're a genius! I am not pre-med but I am in college and cannot decide on a major. My professional experience is in but a degree in Accounting, just didn't sit right. I just looked it up, and the university I plan to attend offers a major in Spanish with a concentration in International Studies and Business, it's the perfect fit for me. Speaking Spanish would be extremely beneficial to me. I was for looking for studying tips and I enjoy hearing you talk about your experiences. Thought you would like to know that your videos benefit more than med students. Thank you.

I totally agree with the spanish advice. Hello, my name is Jessica Gutierrez, I am a pre-med at the moment and also the first in my family to go to college. Coming from a hispanic background and learning english in this country was one of my greatest accomplishments, language has always been hard for my family and I. Especially with medical emergency, growing up we either needed a third party which made the consultation so uncomfortable or as a kid I needed to translate for my parents. Thank you for bringing to light the diversity issue of languages to our  future medical physicians! :)

aw love your advice! I personally love Spanish but was afraid to study it much further, thinking that it wouldn't be super useful. Totally changed my perspective on that! All your videos videos have been immensely helpful and encouraging. Thank you so much for posting :)

I nearly squealed when you said Spanish. I am so in love with the language, and am in AP Spanish Literature, but also want to be premed. Everyone always treats me like I'm not made to be a doctor because I like Spanish so much, so it's awesome to hear that from you!! Thank you so much for your advice :)

Andrea,
My name is Chandler, and I have been struggling with what to major in when I get to college to be a good candidate for medical school for quite some time. The anxiety of majoring in something like Biochemistry got to the point to where I debated becoming a Cardiologist and feared college due to a stressful undergraduate life leading into what I'm sure is an even more stressful medical school life. When I saw this video, I decided to watch it, and when you said the best pre-med major is Spanish, I started jumping for joy because I have such an extensive passion for Spanish! I knew I wanted to get some sort of degree in Spanish but was afraid to think about going farther than an associates degree because I thought I would have to devote all my time to something like Biology or Chemistry, but now I know I don't have to! This video has helped me make my major decision SO much easier, and now I can't wait to get to college! Thanks, and have a blessed day!

Yes, I definitely agree with you! I'm premed planning to switch my major to Nutritional Sciences (designed for those who anticipate becoming a dietitian) and I minor in Spanish. It really does help to give an extra advantage. Especially for those who speak some or little Spanish, why not just go the extra step to major and minor in it and have that skill for the rest of your life. Super advantageous. I started out as Preprofessional Bio Med b/c my academic adviser suggested I do so, since that's what med school want according to him. Your video really helped me to hear a different perspective and reassured me that med schools will still be interested in students with other majors as well. Love your channel! <3

i have been using your white board method as well as doing review sheets....it has worked amazing!!! i have an A in physio because of that, it feels good to only study several sheets on test day as opposed to 11 power points with 50 slides....life saver :) i enjoy your videos sooo much !!!

So, I stumbled upon this video after searching for videos explaining what would happen after getting a bad grade in a science class when your a pre-med student. I am now a junior in college and I'm struggling with a class, I actually just watched your video explaining that and then I saw this one and had to watch it. I just wanted to personally thank you for making these blogs and helping other students just like me have an insight into medical school from someone who is actually experiencing it. It's remarkably helpful and I feel so much better after watching your videos just because its so humbling watching someone who is so kind give advice to students like my self who are struggling with school. So yeah, sorry for the rant but seriously thank you, you've literally turned my day around.

That's a great tip about taking Spanish courses in college. Being fluent in Spanish is a big advantage for American healthcare workers.

Great advice! But I want to throw something in (ik this video is old but here's a tip!).

Make sure you major in something that interests you but also one you know you can fall back on in case you decide not to pursue medicine. I know many people from my school who majored in english or something like that because it was easy, but then they decided they didn't want to become a doctor anymore and had no career interests within the field they majored in.

First of all I want to give you a huge thanks for your videos. I'm a first generation student and I have always excelled in the language arts. I am about to start my freshmen year in college and I'm a Bio major right now  but I do not like some of the classes I will have to take to fulfill the requirements for my major. I don't find them all useful for going into medical school.I wanted to switch my major to Spanish but my parents do not think that this major will help me get into medical school, so I haven't switched my major yet. My gut feeling tells me that Spanish is what I want to do so hearing your opinion just helped me reassure myself and gave me that extra boost to go with what I believe will help me the most.Thank you!!!
