I never found any benefits with those in line 4 cyclinders. That have their place of course but they are limited. The inline 6 cylinder is a much better design however, that means front wheeel drive won't work with them. The V6 is usually the best bang for the buck.

I'll take either V6 or V8 (my 4 Runner is based on a Tacoma and has a 4.7 liter V8) both of which are gas guzzlers but they're much more reliable and durable than a 4cyl.

My 2010 Tacoma 4WD with 2.7L and 5 speed manual tops out at 17 miles per gallon. I bought it used with non original 17” wheels

My Kia Forte 4 cyl uses the Atchkin cycle technology. I get close to 30 mpg in hilly PA.

The D4S can switch between Adkinson and Otto cycles… and that engine has direct and port injection - 12 injectors.
Port injection, theoretically, eliminates intake valve carbon coking.

Yes, Scotty. But, there's not much leg room at all for most people. So, considering what I've said, does the Toyota Tundra or other offer the Same Engine benefits? My wife and I need some leg room! What about SUVs you'd recommend? Thanks.

What about an LS2 or LS3? My corvette gets about 32 mpg on the highway and the thing is bulletproof
