All objects fall at the same rate. Timing the freefall from the top of the top of the fountain to the crater floor is accurate.

Kudos for getting the crater name right when many newscasters & even volcanologists & geologists get it wrong! Beautiful footage. I went when the lava lake returned. (10//21). 🌋 Mahalo!

Is an eruption considered to “start” when lava first appears? It’s been brewing for a bit before it actually spewed lava.
