This is the new MG HS Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV). MG has been making waves with their innovative and budget-friendly options, and this latest entry is no exception. Let's get into what makes the MG HS PHEV a potential game-changer in the hybrid SUV market.

Design and Style
First things first, the exterior. With the exterior, the new HS has more of that design language we've come to expect from modern MG's. It's bold and athletic, and stands out.

The large star-rider grille upfront makes a strong statement, while the sleek LED headlights and the sculpted body lines accentuate its dynamic appearance. It's a car that will turn heads, whether it's parked or cruising down the motorway.

Transitioning to the interior, MG doesn’t hold back on luxury. The cabin is a real treat, featuring soft-touch materials, and comfortable leather seats that come with electric adjustments and heating – a nice touch for those colder days. The overall layout is intuitive, with everything within easy reach, making it a practical choice for families.

Under the bonnet, the MG HS PHEV packs a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine paired with an electric motor, delivering a combined output of 258 horsepower. The transition between electric and petrol power is seamless, providing a smooth and responsive driving experience. The steering is precise, with just the right amount of feedback to keep you engaged but comfortable on longer journeys.

One of the standout features has to be the efficiency. The HS PHEV boasts an impressive electric-only range, making it ideal for daily commutes without using a drop of petrol. When you do need to travel further afield, the hybrid system works efficiently to keep fuel consumption down.

MG is generous on the tech front, too. The HS PHEV comes equipped with a responsive 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You'll find an array of modern conveniences like keyless entry, a 360-degree camera, and a digital driver’s display that provides all your essential driving information at a glance.

Safety isn’t overlooked either. The MG HS PHEV is loaded with features including lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control, ensuring that you and your family remain safe on the road.

The MG HS PHEV is not just another hybrid SUV; it's a statement of MG's commitment to affordable luxury and environmental responsibility. With its striking design, robust performance, and advanced technology, it stands out as a top contender for anyone looking to make the switch to a hybrid without breaking the bank.

So, if you’re in the market for a capable, stylish, and eco-friendly SUV, the MG HS PHEV deserves a spot at the top of your list.

We have the trophy auto ( not the plug in hybrid ) in Holborn blue & it is such a great car . The facelift has given it much more modern appeal & the seats are incredibly comfortable on long journeys . One negative is the slight hesitation of the DCT gearbox at slow speeds, quite noticeable when pulling out at junctions before it suddenly kicks in . If they can Iron out that it would be much improved . As it is it’s much better value than most of the competition & so comfortable .

They seem to go backwards sometimes no rear interior light or pan roof which our 2022 model has both

Hi Great explanation of the kit provided, But no mention of defrosting the windscreens, (shame on MG, ) such a small thing but very important, Regards welshman 2081

And to put my comments into some sort of perspective, my current car’s a Renault Zoe 50. I’ve no intention of returning to petrol or diesel vehicles.

A very nice vehicle, the only problem being that it isn’t fully electric!! I would never even look at a car with a petrol or diesel engine again!!

We had the top spec when this launched - in fact we had two - mine and the husbands. Then we started to have issues with them unfortunately. What was good was the interior and spec. They’ve taken the pano roof off the spec list which is a huge shame given the price hikes. It is also crying out for AWD and more power

Having drove EV’s as part of my job I can assure you I will never own an EV for myself. Only petrol or diesel for me.

Was seriously considering an MG HS but it has a bad image problem. People might think I was on DLA.
