 i found that the plasma was much easier to control in the increased vessel to the point it was stable enough to manipulate the shape and structure of the plasma by gentle throttling of the power from the variac.

Would love to add some sort of focusing coil array to make that beam fine enough to send through a proper linear accelerator. I dream to one day make an electron beam that can travel across the air with no deviation in arc path and with as few thermal losses as possible for highly efficient ionic avalanching.

what would happend if you add some powerful magnets around and a refrigeration system like liquid nitrogen to low the system temperature ? I mean this adds could improve the particle acceleration

Around what kv voltage are you running this at? Also, approximately how hot does the glass tube become?
