Thank you so much for the critique! I learned a lot from your review. I have been working on using less colors in pixel art haha.. Thanks again i love your work!

Wow, I stared at this for 16 minutes, and it wasn’t until you mentioned the bow that I could see what it was! I was wondering for so long what that long diagonal line was. Now that I see it though, I don’t understand why I didn’t see it from the beginning! But that just goes to show how important adequate contrast is to make an image legible. This was fun to watch! I appreciate that you spent quite a long time critiquing and improving one image.

What would be cool to see as well is a before and after comparison at the end, so we get a better idea of what all the changes added up to compared to the original artwork. But nice video!

I love these critiques. Thank you! I think the breaks in the antlers were supposed to be moss hanging from them, but the color is so similar to the background that it didn't read very well. The noisy technique works well in the background but not well on the main subject. Like you explain so well, the objects in focus should be clearer and more distinct. Making the bow, hands, and skulls more visually distinct (i.e. dialing down the noisy technique and giving them more contrast) would go a long way to improving the composition.

And great work with the teaching while you work, I know its not easy but you're getting really good at explaining pixel and art fundamentals while coming across it in the process.

That sort of teaching is invaluable, especially with software like Aseprite where there are some nifty tricks and procedures that can really help.

Thanks for doing this, I might submit some work sometime, Im self-conscious and not an artist but Im making a 2D side-scroller. Great work man cant wait for more

I’m working on a pixel art skull right now. Disappointed that someone beat me to it lol.
Anyway, this art is really cool! I liked the tips and tricks and I will definitely be using some in my own art.

I might be wrong, but the original looks kinda AI-ish. I've seen (and tried myself) AI generating pixel art and leaving random off color pixels, going really hard on the shading (like on trees) or missing pixels in outlines
