**Circular motion
**Types of circular motion
**Different Terminology of circular motion
**Practice Problems
Circular motion
**Circular motion is a movement of an object along the circumference of a circle or rotation along a circular path
Ex. Ceiling fan blades, Stone tied with rope & Artificial satellite etc.
Uniform Circular Motion(UCM)
**Uniform Circular Motion (UCM) occurs when an object moves with a constant speed around a circular path. The speed remains constant, but the velocity does not because the object's direction is always changing. The object must accelerate towards the center of the circle to stay in the circular path
Example: Satellite Moving in orbit
**The angular velocity is constant (ω = c)
**The velocity vector is tangent to the trajectory at each point and its direction is the same as the direction of the motion. This means that the motion has normal acceleration
**Both, the angular acceleration (α) and tangential acceleration (at) are zero, since the speed (the velocity vector magnitude) is constant
***********Non-Uniform Circular Motion(NUCM)***********
A body is said to be in a non-uniform motion if it travels unequal distances in equal intervals of time. Non-Uniform motion is also known as uniformly accelerated circular motion.
Example: Car Moving in Circular path, starting of fan
**The angular velocity ω increases or decreases uniformly
**There is normal or centripetal acceleration an which is responsible for the change of direction of the velocity vector. However, it is not constant, but rather depends on the velocity at the point considered
**There is tangential acceleration at and it is constant. Remember that at=α·R , with R the radius of the motion. The angular acceleration is constant (α = c)
**1_Angular Displacement : Angular displacement is defined as “the angle in radians (degrees, revolutions) through which a point or line has been move in the circular path”. It is the angle of the movement of a body in a circular path
**Angular Velocity : It is the rate of change in the angular displacement of a moving object (measured in radians). Angular velocity has a magnitude and a direction
