well the female vocalist left as she wanted to do her own thing, but honestly hello sadness has some really good songs on there (will agree that hold on now youngster is one of the best as it has most of the iconic songs in it). i don’t know about no blues or sick scenes as i haven’t listened to those albums much but if it’s from them im sure they good. also don’t forget about le christmas album most of the music is charming spins

Hello Sadness is actually so iconic. They changed the members a lil at that time tho. That album just has so much more emotional depth and more maturity than the more poppy dance twee sounds of their earlier albums, not that they are bad by any means. Romance is Boring is also amazing.

Bruh Aleks left the band after romance is boring, they didn’t just not let her sing anymore, Kim is a completely different vocalist and hello sadness is awesome. I agree I like their old stuff better, but the new stuff isn’t trying to sound like the old stuff and it’s still awesome in my opinion.

Jk you can dislike hello sadness idk, but don’t say that they just let Aleks sing less that’s not true

Swap 3 and 7 and 6 and 5 and that’s my list. Hello sadness has some great vocals by Kim in black Slope. But I always felt that it was more of group album then just a one guy one girl album especially seen at the ending of death rattle. We are doomed is great But it’s more of a bridge to Romance for me. It’s consistent banger but I’d rather have an album with some alright tracks and some god tracks then a consistent banger. Also second one is I like whole damn body more than sick scenes with its continuation of light seas and while it can be seen as a bridge album like we are doomed. It feels more…like an album Dispite that?

Aleks left the band before even Romance Is Boring released, she just recorded and left before it was finished. Yeah Kim had joined around the time, but she also didn't have much singing in No Blues. Really shined in Sick Scenes though, love her vocals despite being mostly slightly different and slightly noticeable background vocals.

Also hard disagree on starting with Hold On Now, Youngster. I'd say start with Romance Is Boring because it feels the most like an LC album. HONY has a lot of Twee from their early years which is only found on that album and nowhere else.
